In 2018, whilst visiting a primary school in Sunderland, the Chairman of the Trust, David Gray, became aware of the fact that sadly, many children did not have suitable outdoor clothing to wear in wet and cold weather. Through fundraising, more than £10,000 was raised and 600 coats were purchased, embroidered and distributed to 13 primary schools in Sunderland and County Durham.

Further funding was raised and more coats distributed around Sunderland and County Durham, with Wellington boots being added.
